Thread: The Kavanaugh hearings.

CNN is reporting a 2:30 deadline.
We could isolate Russia totally from the world and maybe they could apply for membership after 2000 years.

Interesting article on how to prep for testimony. https://www.theatlantic.com/politics...ifying/571048/

One point is that you should not just hire lawyers who are seen as partisan only. Get experts from all sides of the spectrum.

Committing to testify without specifying a time and date, only some time 'next week'. I was under the impression that Grassley's deadline was to respond if she wanted to appear on Monday.

Haven’t been able to find a report of a 60 Minutes interview...

Do you have a source? Or was that sarcasm?

The Republicans are desperately trying to appear as accommodating as possible so that they do not offend females who think it is appropriate for a woman to level a sexual assault charge through a leftist lawyer...for a decades old alleged encounter that nobody can verify ever happened...without providing any details of the event that can be verified...and a list of witness that say she is full of shit.

You know, because such women are bastions of reason and likely to ever vote Republican.

An interesting article on my position that both parties suck and exist only to support the life style of their elites.

This is the very essence of the problem.

No matter how the Conservatives act, no matter how accommodating they are, they will, in the end, be portrayed as being everything that they were not. Such is the degree of polarization (which both the Ds and the Rs are equally responsible for creating) that exists. Where this kettle eventually boils over is with wide scale violence in the (most likely distant) future bordering on that of outright civil war. Right now it (the 'political war', such as it is) is being fought with words, hyperbole and demagoguery, but I firmly believe that once some 'tipping point' or critical imbalance is reached (as perceived by one of these two factions) that bullets, bombs and other despicable acts will eventually enter the picture. The Left (Democrats/Liberals/Socialists) seems to be behaving the worst at this present time as they have no real control to exert (the Right, Republicans/Conservatives, have done so in the past, too) over what is going wrong from their perspective and losing what they have seen as at least some sort of ideological balance on the US Supreme Court may be that 'tipping point' that causes them to 'rally to (actual) arms' over their desire to do away with the US Constitution and treat it as a living document that must change to meet the passing whims of society. Although I really doubt that we are quite at that point yet, one day, given the ever-increasing game of one-upmanship (or what I call ''one-up-yours-ship'') being played by both sides, we will get there some day.

I'd love to believe that cooler heads will ultimately prevail, but as we have all seen by way of the tremendous polarization, there are no adults in D.C.

Well, off to buy another case of 7.62x39 and 9mm....

There is not going to be an event, tipping point, or critical mass/imbalance where we suddenly transition from a peaceful society to mass violence. The tipping points (there were several mini events) occurred years ago with 9/11, the financial crisis, ACA, TARP, stimulus, re-election of Obama, etc.. What will happen is we continue our slow erosion into insolvency and gradual spread of regional instability that takes decades. Your guns and ammo will be outlawed long before the mass violence.
