    Ryker Nylon AFAK
Mixture of OEM and Magpul Mags

To start off id like to say a few words about the location. This was my first trip to Last Resort. I honestly did not know it existed and its a shame. The Monks (owners/operators) have an extremely nice facility with multiple bays and an excellent club house. I fully intend on attending some of their monthly matches as well as any future classes held there.

    Now to the course:

Spencer Keepers is an excellent instructor. If you have been around many its easy to pick up early on who is good and who needs work. Spencer had excellent time management and kept the class flowing well. We had enough students for multiple relays and all was coordinated well with the help of his AI.
Due to the heat Spencer opted to do a brief safety and course hot-wash and then get right to the line. Some of the ways he iterates the safety rules i will be using in the future as i really liked how he laid them out.

On to the range. Spencer started both relays off dry. Working us through his specific AIWB draw and reholster (spencer rock) to ensure all were on par with his safety standards. We then worked in relays on draw and fire strings. Pushing speed and efficiency from the holster while maintaining safety. After several runs relays between both groups we then shot one of his hat quals. Post hat qual we broke for lunch.

Upon returning from lunch it was dry drills again. This time working one hand strong and other strong hand draws, reholsters, and reloads (other strong hand only). Once all were proficient with this he then move on to crowded table drills and demos from the car. Both of these helped to really show where AIWB shines and why many (including myself) have always been a strong advocate of this carry position. Lastly we shot his close speed drill for a hat.

    End range time.

Unlike most classes we did the classroom portion last. This was due to the heat and humidity of the day. Honestly i feel all students were happy with this choice at the end of the day after baking in the sun. The class consisted on holster theory, design, dos and donts, etc. Lastly he went over helpful tips for concealed carry and ways to remain concealed.

The biggest take away that Spencer wants a student to walk away with is safe reholstering. However many lessons were learned.

I would highly recommend anyone regardless of skill level and experience taking this class and look forward to others in the future.
Just a father trying to protect his family.
