Thread: Opinions on USPSA/IDPA matches for LE

A young fellow shot IPSC here from his teens; we watched him improve.
When he got on with the PD and went to the academy, he ranked well but not at the top on qualification type shooting.
Then one day the instructor rowed up three targets and said
"We are going to do something different today. This is called El Presidente."
    "All RIGHT!" blurted our guy.

He can get a gun out of a Level III holster in a heck of a hurry.

Last night at SWAT training we did a top gun shoot, which had a lot of movement, accuracy requirements and reactive steel - Poppers, plate rack and a Texas Star. After the sun went down we did a bunch of man on man pistol work (half a plate rack, reload, steel popper - poppers set up so popper that ends up on the bottom is the winner). Then some solo runs on the star (with a reload between first and last plate). Then a casino drill. All using just WMLs.

    Good times.
