Thread: I've found my favorite J-Frame grips...and it makes me a little sad.

The Taurus grips are actually the perfect size "boot" grip for me, they cover the backstrap (I've previously been cutting the pinky area off of the old Uncle Mikes J-Frame grips, to get a boot grip with a covered backstrap), and they are just tacky enough.

I'm either going to have to paint the medallions black, or rip them out of the grips entirely though...just don't like having "Taurus" written on the side of an otherwise perfectly good 351c.
Just needs one of those snap covers, like the ones that come with furniture to hide the screws.

Hogue needs to make offer the Tamer as in one of the above posts, but with shorter flush fitting bottom, boot grip like.

    C’mon Ken, how about it?

Make it as high as a centennial grip too!

I've cut down the Hogues as shown in this thread. I didn't take them all the way to the bottom of the frame - not sure if that would compromise the attachment. But what I did cut off was adequate to make the gun fit in my pocket, and give me a cushioned grip that goes all the way to the top of the frame.

For me, the biggest problem wasn't the recoil, but that the trigger reach was too short with the factory grips (Uncle Mike's on my circa-2000 gun). The back of the trigger pinched the pad of my trigger finger.

I do wish Hogue would offer something like this from the factory.
