Thread: I've found my favorite J-Frame grips...and it makes me a little sad.

I've got some of those grips. Best J-Frame grips I've ever found. You either have to drill a new hole in the grips for the locating pin or just remove the pin. It works OK without the pin.

Not able to locate an SKU, but they are the factory combat grips for a Taurus 85.

I remember reading about this years ago...I thought it was Mas Ayoob...all I could come up with online was a 2002 firing line thread.

People have apparently been doing it for awhile at any rate.

The Taurus grips are actually the perfect size "boot" grip for me, they cover the backstrap (I've previously been cutting the pinky area off of the old Uncle Mikes J-Frame grips, to get a boot grip with a covered backstrap), and they are just tacky enough.

I'm either going to have to paint the medallions black, or rip them out of the grips entirely though...just don't like having "Taurus" written on the side of an otherwise perfectly good 351c.
    *Thank you.*

Now I don’t feel so bad for liking Ergo Delta grips on my Js.

I tried those once on an M&P340 looking for something that increased the trigger reach while providing some cushion missing in the original boot grips. To my dismay they were hard rubber. But I did prefer the dimensions to the boot grips.

Only way I've seen to get a Taurus to work.

Not really sure how this thread makes me feel, but now I am wondering if the bottom of these couldn't be ground down?...
