    G19 15 Round Mag with +2

Has anyone tried converting a standard 15 round mag to 17 with a +2?

Does it work? Fits in gun without dropping/extra force and is it compatible with Gen5? Did you have to put in a G17 spring?

I was thinking it would be a good way to add capacity to my existing mags without having to spend $35 on G17 mags.

Also, where do you get your mags from?

Please don’t pay $35 for Glock mags. You can find them all day long for under $25.

I have used that configuration. It offers a flush-ish fit over a protruding G17 mag. The base has a beefier, more positive "feel" in the hand during reloads. I didn't find it to make enough difference performance wise though. A regular G17 magazine is also cheaper, more plentiful, and can be used in larger models. The G19 mag has a 9-coil spring standard. Use the 10-coil (standard in the 17/22) for a G19 mag with the OEM (+) base.

Right now, there's no reason to pay more than $18-$22 for a G17 mag.

Well I found a deal on eBay that had the +2 components and a Wolff +10% mag spring. Installed fine, loads fine, a little extra oompth required to seat on a slide-forward reload.

Carrying it as a spare is really nice as that extra girth and length is easy to grab. Haven't had a chance to test fire yet, but should this weekend.

Anyway, if you're interested in trying it out the link to purchase is here:

or you can buy it from his eBay listing here

I just carry a 17 round magazine reload for my Glock 19. I've heard on a number of occasions that those +2 base plates like to take a dump and let all the rounds fall out.

With my latest Brownell's order got, one of the new 24rnd magazines coming with it. Primarily for the AR but want to try it on the 19/17/34. The 33rnd magazine is just a little long on the AR for my liking. Back to thread topic I will carry a G-17 round magazine as a refill for my G-19 the small amount of overhang when it is inserted for use has never been considered, it's just their.
