Thread: Andrew Tuohy tests Glock pistol comps.

Andrew Tuohy tests Glock pistol comps.

TLDR: muzzle rise reduction in a Ransom was 25 to 42%.

I saw that this AM. I fully expect my ARFCOM thread to fill with people on both sides saying stupid stuff.

I like my comp'ed CCF raceframe. I don't plan on comping everything, but I do think they provide an advantage to shootability (no skill).

No we need somebody to come with a contraption to measure how fast these guns/comps come back on target.
Doesn't read posts longer than two paragraphs.

Have you found that the RSA or other springs needed dialing in with the KKM? In Gen 3? In Gen 4? I figure they might be different.

I didn't across a few thousand rounds in a Gen 3 G19. It was utterly reliable in otherwise OEM condition, minus connector.

Literally on the eve of Gabe's class when I took it, I suddenly managed to impede the slide with my skin, hitting the grip to high while pushing more speed than I "owned" and fouled the cycling a few times. That spooked me and I put it up for his class and shoot another G19. I had a long history of a fair amount of Glock slide bite at that point across a bunch of guns and I never saw it impede cycling before.

I didn't really look into the subject much beyond that point, just put the barrel and comp up.

    Please comment more on this:

What kind of use? Concealed carry? Duty rig? SWAT team? The added length looks like a detriment for carry.

Does the enhanced flash + blast effect is very noticeable, or even a detriment in some light conditions or tight closed quarters?

How much faster is shot to shot recovery? It seems it would be the only advantage; is there any other?

I'll be "that guy" and say I don't see the use on a carry gun. More muzzle flash and noise in exchange for a 9 degree reduction in muzzle flip (from a rest, I'm sure someone's hands are going to be different, strength and technique will vary) doesn't seem like a win when shooting at evaluation speeds.
Sorta around sometimes for some of your shitty mod needs.

This guy is still around? He didn't combust after the fireclean debacle?
