    Each service has a piece of the "space mission", and eventually there will be units in space, with few if any overlap vis a vis actual surface, sub-surface, or atmospheric maneuvering or operations. (Surface to space doesn't count.)
    Frankly, at least formally beginning to plan for this is overdue.
    (And I'm still jealous of the dude at Ft Cartoon who re-upped and got Cheyenne Mountain as his duty assignment.)

    Well, there already is a SPACE COMMAND for DOD. I had grandfather-in law that was a COL. There. They do all the deconfliction of space and the satellites that occupy the orbital plane. He was Army, but it is an Air Force ran JOINT-Command. It might even be Combined now. Combined - is foreign components. It wouldn't surprise me to have some British and other select countries involved. Now, maybe they will get some combat forces
