One negitive thing about the new grips- the mounting screw is just about 2mm too long (and that's the same T Grip from my 10, and it doesn't really fit the square frame).
None of which is really going to be a problem for too long.

That's lovely. If I carried a gun like that, I would feel compelled to dress nicer.
I was into 10mm Auto before it sold out and went mainstream, but these days I'm here for the revolver and epidemiology information.

SN is K 120XXX, which seems to me to indicate an early 50's pre-Model 15 (feel free to add any info).

I haven't shot it yet, but will do a report next week.

Great looking S&W!! The serial number puts it at 1951 per the SC of S&W 4th edition.

I had one as my first duty weapon in the USAF and then with my previous Department. My Wife (then fiance) bought this one for me for our first Christmas together. She's a keeper. (So is the Revolver)...

Great stuff here with these Combat Masterpieces!

I picked this one up recently at a LGS- it’s actually retired from my department and was shipped from the factory back in December ‘69...It’s frame stamped SCPD R
