    Well, it goes bang. Haven’t shot any groups with it. Ran out of time. I loaded a cylinder and cranked off all 6 as fast as I could pull the trigger.

    Are you looking at the spots under the grips? That was my first inclination too. Then I remembered...almost every third issue Colt D-Frame I've seen looked like that from the factory. Their casting (and more importantly finishing) got pretty craptacular during that time.

    I see a few spots, like on the crane, where a better job prepping the metal in advance would have been a good idea. To my eye the biggest offender is the terrible job on the cylinder, but at least it appears that they didn't coat the extractor star.

    Importantly, nothing there a quick media blast couldn't remove.

    shoot it until the cerakote comes off.
