Quick indoor range trip - shot some B-8s at 25 though the lifting is not the best.,

Messed with the P320 with the Wilson grip. I like the Wilson grip, and it seems to address the issue I have with the a grip activating the slide stop with rounds left in the mag but I think it is a little too small for me - I get lateral errors I don’t get with the larger grips.

But ironically the best B8 of the day was with the stock G17 Gen4 MOS and DPP.

My son is home on Christmas leave and we went to the DNR range (our first time there, all of the ranges near us are closed due to the Klung-Flu). Shot my 300 BLK, 22 LR and the gen 3 Glock that will be his when he ETSs.

We burned through around 200 rounds of 115 gr Remington 300 BLK. I bought this stuff way back in the day when it was just slightly more than 40 CPR. I did scrounge around to pick up the empties to reload. The 36M was awesome, but man the gun was DIRTY when we were done. I don't know if I will shoot this thing unsuppressed.

    First shots of 2021!

Ruger MKII, with newly mounted Riton MPRD on Mad Macs Precision base. Using the finest Russian surplus Klimovsk Stamping Plant .22LR, possibly from 1984??

Went to the indoor range today for a quick (2 hours) range session since it felt like I haven't been shooting since last year...

Tried out a new to me Colt XSE. Felt good but I need a shorter trigger. I couldn't figure out why it just felt "off" until I picked up a TRP and the light bulb went on.

Speaking of TRPs, the second session with the full rail version went MUCH better than the first. All indications are it was underlubed. Instead of feeling sluggish and having to fight it in recoil, it ran like a top and tracked at least as well as the non-rail version when I shot them back to back. It even ate 50 rounds of Winchester aluminum case fed from a CMC 10 round mag with no issues. I think I want one more range session with it then I'll pick up a TLR-1 (unless I get a screaming deal on an X300U) and it might become the night stand pistol.

Not pictured is the P-07. I did 2 mags worth of decock then 1 shot from low ready at 10 yards in preparation of carrying it in the near future. After that I put the .22 kit on it and did the same.

Started and finished the session with the MKIV 22/45 Lite. Now that my 1911 lust is (mostly) satisfied the .22s are looking for more attention and siblings. The second picture is the 4 aces target I finished up with at 10 yards.

I watched a few Brian Zins vids before hitting the range and thought I'd make an effort at using a bullseye stance to see if it's something I might enjoy. My 5 rounds at 7 yards did stay on the 8.5x11 sheet of paper but that's about all I can say for them. 25 or 50 yards feels impossible right now but I didn't hate it and I think it's something I want to look into more.

First range time for me in a while. Shoot 100s through a Caspian build 1911. Then did some side by side with a G19 and EDC-X9.

    Shot the “mutt” 1911 today.
WW II Colt top on an Essex frame.
Had it gone over by a retired Army armorer who fixed several issues.
Runs like a top with random GI type mags with everything except H&G style 200 grain SWC bullets.
    Pic is from summer 2019.

Cool Garand and I dig the German Camo!

Even though it was raining and blowing I shot a few rounds through my 21 SF using some .45 ACP that I loaded for some guys. 230 grain round nose BBIs.

I don't think there is anything that my G21 won't shoot

    Such an easy gun.

It will go back to its duty as a house gun now.

My buddy has been a hardcore cross country skier for as long as I've known him, over 20 years. He is a coach for his girl's high school cross country team, and been getting intensely serious about his skiing for the past five years. He has also wanted to get into biathlon about 20 years. He decided to go big rather than go home, and bought a $4k Anschutz 1827F Biathlon rifle, which he brought to me to assemble. It's a hell of a price tag, and a hell of a machine. Here he is shooting the first rounds out of it. According to the factory supplied 50 meter test target, if you don't hit exactly where you were aiming, it's all your fault. We have many faults...
