Hit the range today with @NickA and @J M Campbell. It was Texas HOT.
The good:
As posted in the 25 yard thread, I got the DPP on my G17.4 MOS re-zeroed after a trip back for warranty work.
Gun is 100% stock to duplicate my duty gun. My best B8 of the day was 99-7X with this gun and Magtech 115 FMJ.
JM had a 97 with his M&P9 1.0 CORE and RMR.
Zeroed my M4A1 and verified slug zero with a PD surplus 870.
NickA took a shine to the SIG 320. I Need to get more 320 time as we are transitioning to them at work.
The 320 X Carry ran its usual 100%.
The not so good:
The 320 compact is from the first month of compact production (Aug 2014 or 2015) It just recently went back for the “upgrade” and to address issues with light strikes. Unfortunately I had another light strike / failure to fire with Federal 150 grain synthtec.
Brought out the Colt 9mm AR. I picked up a Botach “Battle steel” carry handle micro mount and mounted a SIG Romeo 4. Had vertical stringing issues and could not get a good zero with the RDS. Took off the RDS and the gun shot fine with Irons. I’ll have to try a known good Holosun to see if it is the sight or the mount.
The Colt ran 100% with 124 grain +p GDHP and Magtech 115 FMJ but it had issues feeding the flat nose of the purple Winchester practice ammo from work.

Taking a break from social media.
Got to shoot a practice match. Most of the runs, my draw was a little pokey (1.15sec was the fastest? Bleh) and the hits aren't quite what I wanted, but I kept pretty even pace with some higher level shooters....ya know, before they counted the hits.

Testing out a new load and re-zeroing the 6x47L today
I got a little impatient and pulled one shot left but am still happy with how this load is shooting. Hoping to get it past 1000 next weekend.
-Seconds Count. Misses Don't-
IDPA style carbine match. Ruger PC Carbine, stock with optic - Vortex Crossfire Red Dot (recommended by Tom Jones). 2, 4, 11, 4, 4 down. Second time out with the gun. The 11 was a movement and shooting stage at a distance. Still getting used to the gun and sights.
Shot it also with a G17, not so hot, way below my usual. Bah.
It was HOT as HCM said. Got to me and I had to skip taping a bit for shade time, despite drinking lots fluids. Feeling it more nowadays. My shoulder and right arm, injured a couple of years ago in a car wreck, started to act up then and for the rest of the day. Still is hurtful.
Like the Ruger quite bit. Nuance, I shot it with 10 round mags to practice for ban state hi jinks. Thus, had to reload a bit, good practice.
One jam, easily cleared. One casing managed to get over my hat, avoid the flap on the cap (wear one with a back flap to keep the sun off and casings down my back) and roll down the exposed side of my neck for an ouch. I don't wear a shirt that can catch them. Tight neck closure but it found that one piece of exposed neck.
Some folks shot battle rifles. Funny, the rounds kicked up so much dust from the dry TX soil of the berm in back of the targets that is almost obscured them. There were 8 shots on the far targets near the back berm.
