    TH 45

Yesterday, it's five below today. A Taurus TH45. This is my THIRD TH45. I had to send back two others that Taurus replaced. Constant malfunctions. Thos third one fired 26 Rounds of JHP and 26 rounds of FMJ, no problems. I have eleven other Taurus guns both semi automatic and revolver. I've never had an issue with them. Hopefully this one will continue to work.

I'm interested about your thoughts comparing the 92 LTT to the Stacatto. I've never shott a Stacatto. I really enjoy my 92 LTT.

In general both guns are pretty close as far a practical performance. I just run the 92 better.

Where the Staccato loses points for me is the G2 grip module is far too small for my hands and I feel cramped on it.
I also don't have a specific use for the gun so it doesn't really makes sense for me to invest in a different grip + any potential gunsmithing to fit them.

    NH, I can pee outside.
Took the BCM RECCE rifle I won in a give away to sight in.
10 shots fired from 25 yards to a 25/100 zero.
Ringing 1" steel at 100, with a Sig 1-6 scope I traded into.
    Rifle is absolutely unbelievable.

Moved on to the 19x I traded into recently. Did some timed fire and head shots at 25 yards. Name: 20250119_112345.jpg

Today was testing new toys. I have a G5G17 frame that used to be dedicated to a (now sold) .22LR conversion kit. After I sold the kit the frame was just sitting in my safe doing nothing, so I recently bought a Zaffiri Precision compensated barrel & slide for it, since I don't have any compensated pistols and wanted to try one out. I shot it for the first time today and got a lot of misfeeds. I need to try some different ammo and try a different non-compensated barrel from one of my other G17s to see if I can isolate what the problem is.

I also used to have a Glock magazine block for my M16 so I could shoot 9mm in it with my CMMG RDB upper. The mag block was a pain to install and could be finicky at times, so I sold it awhile back too. Last summer I pre-ordered some MEAN Arms Exomag AR15-9 magazines and they finally came in last week, so now I can shoot 9mm without a magazine block. But in testing, after the first shot, the bolt would always ride over the top round and not pick up a subsequent round. After that it would work OK in semi-auto. In full-auto it'd occasionally happen later in the magazine too. Currently there's a hydraulic buffer in the gun, I guess I need to try a different heavier buffer one that'll lower the RPM a little. But I shot ~200 rounds in full-auto, so the trip wasn't a total bust.

Switched out my carry gun for its clone.

The gun I've been carrying and shooting for the last year is going to detail disassembled, cleaned, lubed, then stored as a backup at classes until it becomes the primary again in 2026.

Shot this cold with my carry ammo that has exceeded the number of chamberings that I'm comfortable with: four. They all functioned properly.

First round from WHO went a little low.

Did some tweaking of the feed lips on the High Standard magazine this morning and it ran 49 of 50 rounds. Would have been 50/50 but 1 round failed to fire with multiple attempts. I'll give it another 50 (hopefully next week) and then probably list it for sale. It's been fun, it's great to look at but my days of being interested in fiddling with older guns are fading rapidly.

Loaded 100 .38 Specials this morning, Berry 148 HBWC over 3.6 w231 and ran them through the 19-9. This time I used CCI primers and still had multiple light strikes in DA. Strain screw is tight, internals are lubed and it seems to only be in DA so I'm not sure what's going on. The 442 ran the same ammo Friday and today with no problems. I had no problems with factory ammo last weekend so I need to take it out next weekend with another box of factory and see if I still have problems. Frustrating because my 617 is doing the same thing.

This was 75 rounds at 10 yards. Would have looked a lot better if I hadn't been trying to figure out the light strikes.

Put a total of 100 9mm through the Benchmark, SA-35 and P-09C but I was pretty frustrated with the 19-9 and it showed up in my targets the rest of the session. Shot another 25 or so of my 185gr .45 reloads through the LW Kimber. I shot it better than any of the 9mm and felt like I had more fun with it anyway.

I don’t know who’s to blame for that but I know who didn’t do it!

Both were slow fire, but aside from the flyer, I'm pretty happy with them.

Was able to sneak in a quickie this morning before taking Dad to an appointment. As the great Levi Stubbs said “This’un gonna be short!”.

I only brought the Supermatic Trophy to see if my mag tweaks worked (they mostly did) and the 19-9 to see if it would light strike on factory ammo like it did with my reloads (it did).

The strain screw is all the way in and tight on the 19-9 so it looks like an extended firing pin from TK Customs will be in my future.

It was liberating bringing only 2 handguns and 150 rounds. I think I’ll start limiting my sessions to 4 pistols and 250 rounds max.
