    New-to-me late 70s or early 80s vintage S&W 25-5 nickel-plated in my favorite revolver caliber .45 Colt.
Tested some light loads of N320 under Hi-Tek coated 255 MBC SWCs, nice and soft shooting.

625 and 25s were my favorite guns when I shot centerfire and I did very well with them at ICORE matches. Love the way your looks. Good luck with it.

Today I shot my 617 at one of our monthly Steel Challenge matches. I had to replace the grips the other day because when I took off my Miculek grips I lost the retention screw so I had to shoot an older set of Hoque Big Butt grips. They just felt too small and it took me a while to get accustomed to them.

Nice day, only 104 with a slight breeze which means it felt like being in an oven. I drank a lot of water, Gatorade and a 32 oz cup of water filled with electrolites.

Funny, I practice on 8 inch paper targets and don't miss but shooting 10 inch steel plates and I'm all over the place. Again, towards the end, on 5 - to - Go and Smoke & Hope I had my rhythm and shot my personal best on those two stages.

Got home, found the screw for the grips and cleaned my 617. Ready for next week's match. All I have to do is load my DS-10 speed loaders and two boxes of ammo.

Back Out for the Prince Club 600 Yard Bench Rest Rifle Match

It’s held the 3rd Saturday of every month. I’m shooting with a Savage chassis with a Criterion 7.5 twist 28” bull barrel in 6 Dasher….. thanks 32.4 grains of Varget in Lapua brass.

Not too hot this morning but the mirage had gotten up pretty good by the third round and the skeeters were bad to the bone all morning.

I was not in the running to win, but was happy to be there shooting with my friends.

5x5 drills at the proper 10 yards. 20 seconds even= masterclass

Started on stage 5 as the first shooter and felt way more anxious than I should have. No idea why.
Had a few other stumbles, but still finished ~90% of a multi-division GM and nearly 30% above everyone else in limited.
Life and ammo supplies have killed most of my practice time, but I still hope to make a push for M before the end of the season.
Another plus is that this was the first match that my hands were not covered in blood from the aggressive grips, time to increase the pressure

Took a one-day "concealed defensive pistol" class this pass weekend. This was my target when we broke for lunch; it's about 50 rounds. We were working single shots, then multiples at progressively faster rates. Only threw one shot, right in dude's 'stache. I'd say about a third of them are DA from a DA/SA pistol.

Both @TCinVA and my instructor gave me the same advice of really cranking down on my grip.
From Older Offspring after a discussion of coffee:

"If it doesn't come from the Kaffa province of Ethiopia, it's just hot roasted-bean juice."

Installed a new C-More Railway red dot sight on my 6 inch 617 to be a backup for my Steel Challenge gun, a 4 inch.

Sighted in at 25 yards shooting double action with wrists on a bag.
