Just mounted a Trijicon SRO on my brand new PSA Rock. What a fun gun to shoot. I'll use this when the neighbor ladies visit to get them involved when the boys go play guns.

The red dot compatible JMCK Shield Plus holsters arrived this afternoon so I went to the range.

I shot the playing card first. At first I thought I dropped a shot but the bottom is a double. I ran the card drill twice more on a 3x5, then the Five Yard Roundup. I’m not sure the zero hasn’t changed since the last range trip so I shot some dots at 5 and 10 yards, then five rounds at 25.

    New training setup

I don’t have nice images, but I did shoot a department low/no light qual this afternoon , indoors. My sidearm was a G45 with an early Performance Trigger, a Streamlight TLR8-G(reen laser). The dot sight is new: a PB-3 from an Ohio company, “Lead and Steel”. Enclosed emitter with a 3MOA red dot. The emitter is in the roof of the housing like a Steiner MPS. We have two for T&E. I pulled a direct mill slide-the sight has an ACRO footprint-and this to me is a nice low setup. I personally have an ACRO on my G19, but the PB3 has a more rectangular window which is very nice. I’m going to use this for the next few months as a practice piece. I’ve had no issues with the GPT, but I understand the caution some may have with it. Another instructor has been running a close setup-he uses a Surefire X300-but after several thousand rounds the trigger seems broken in and no problems with his dot.
For me the green laser helps, but like anything else, it has to be practiced with. Get the activation down, and it’s an asset. I snap on when my hands meet, or if it’s a single handed shot, use the trigger finger. That’s a reason I like the compact Streamlights: same activation either side.
And the qual was good, too!

Edit to add: backup sights are Ameriglo “L”arge sights, plain black. Didn’t use them but they sit very low with the direct mill. Did not even notice them.
