What did you shoot today?

Helped my neighbor get some decent data for his .338 Lapua Mag and landed on steel out to 1000yards while I took the cheaper and easier route with 6.5CM. Fun to live in a place where a 1k range is down the road, or just head west into the high desert. Pretty spoiled we are.

I bought the combo-meal deal with their NIJ IIIA 10x12 soft armor for $280 about two months ago.
I think it took about 3 weeks from order to front door.
I've been completely satisfied with it for my occasional use purposes.
It's on par quality wise with my London Bridge Trading carrier.

The Franken!Ruger 22/45 and RRA as part of my effort to eliminate a flinch that developed from .40 aggravating my tendinitis. I have been pulling shots low from anticipating recoil and trying to spare the elbow. More .22 rounds as I only shot two magazines of 230-grain ball versus three magazines of .22.

I keep thinking about putting together a FrankenRuger. I'd prefer using a MkIV Standard frame and might settle for a MkIII if the price/availability/budget matrix stays the same but the pull for one of the Turnbull Finished MkIVs is strong as well...

I took the gray camo 223 rifle out tonight to play with a couple quick loads.

Left group is 55 FMJ, lower group is Hornady 62BTHP


I think I can dial out the vertical with some load tuning, and am getting more familiar with the stock.

Recently came into possession of this, almost but not quite a "one-off" because I know of a couple of others.

A first-gen M&P 5" 9mm with a beta test version of Unity Tactical's Atom RDS/PMO mount. Unfortunately, there is only one plate and it's for the RMR footprint. If Apex made it at the time, it is in this pistol. All of the internals are NP3 coated.

Took it down to one of the range's this morning and ran a magazine through for function.



Now that I've done that, it's back to actual work.

Gunsmith was function checking an open bolt 10/22. It functioned fine with Ruger mags, choked with Butler Creek 25 rounders, no surprise.

Fortunately it functioned fine when I was offered some mags. Cool experience, but FA .22s aren't for me.
