Don't know why I was hitting left on the 20 yard portion.

    Week 279: Vickers 300

    LTT Elite 92

    WHO: 100-10x
    SHO: 99-1x
    2H: 97

    Total 296-11x

    Very fun drill.

FWIW, I generally find any pure marksmanship task almost easier SHO than any other type of grip. It almost seems like cheating at 5 yards.

Thank you, that means a lot. You really have to know your zero for this drill. Sadly, if you put me on a timer I fall apart. I have yet to have an all in the black Supertest from concealment.

I shoot DA/SA pairs x5 for each set of ten when working with a TDA pistol. Not sure if that is how it should be done or not but I figure it gives me practice with both trigger pulls and decocking.

There is no time limit on this drill, simply perfect fundamental shot delivery. I have run it with times and I keep coming back to ~30 seconds for each stage. Running it DA/SA is an excellent idea, I think. I have to say when I saw that target, I was going to ask you if you shot all of them SA!

I tend to yank SA shots worse than DA for some reason. I certainly don’t find it much of an advantage.

Shot it tonight twice, once each with my 9mm and .40 M&P 2.0Cs. I shot the 40 first, scoring 291, but forgetting to check each string.
    I thought I shoot the 9mm better but only scored 287, 100-96-91.
It's a challenge for me to maintain focus on 10 round strings.

Observations: Respect the sights and wobble zone. When I didn't, I threw one out at 5yds, and again at 20yd. Take your time.

So apparently I have work to do.

    PX4c with TJIAB and Ameriglo’s
124g Blazer Brass. Except for 4 rounds of 147g AE at the 10 yard line.
    S1: -2
    S2: -7
    S3: -26
    Final Score: 265-4X

Worst hit in 6 ring. Called this miss. Most of my S3 misses went high, directly above the black.

Excuses:I’m still trying I find a practice load that my sights like. This load seems better regulated than my 147 AE, but wider groups.

    Mostly just need more practice.

    TLDR: YSINTG.

Got back to the range today and had a little better results with the same PX4C Ameriglo sights and 147g American Eagle

After a bit of warm up, my best score out of three attempts was 286-10X.

    S1: 99-9X
    S2: 97-1X
    S3: 90-0X*

1 called flyer in the 7 ring on S3. Three rounds went high into 8 ring.

After that, I sped up a bit.
    273-8X*. Five 8-ring and one 7-ring.
    275-8X. Seven 8-ring and one 7-ring hit.

After a bit of SHO/WHO work, I did surprisingly well at S1/S2.

I must have been heeling the heck out of the gun previously as I seemed to be shooting much closer to POA/POI today. I called the two or three lateral misses but didn't see the vertical misses.

*I probably have had one or two additional X hits here but ran the drills on cheap copier paper so it was hard to identify some of the overlapping shots.
