    Coming from a quiet little town, they impressed the hell out of me when I was in college there in the late '70's. They had these four man cars that would go hauling ass by, sometimes up on the sidewalks etc getting to some emergency. When "our" celebration of an NCAA championship got out of hand on Wells Street their clearing of that mob was a thing of beauty. (I was watching from a window up high in a nearby dorm.)
