    RFI: Blu-Ray Player

Every VCR and DVD player I've ever owned had a display on the front. In addition to being able to tell, at a glance, how long a tape or disc had been playing, the front display was also useful for troubleshooting whenever something went wrong, such as a DVD screen being frozen or stuck in a loop.

However, every Blu-Ray player I've owned since then has lacked this feature. Instead, I'm expected to press some button on my remote to display the information on the TV screen. That usually works, but I don't want to have to do that.

Are there any Blu-Ray players with a traditional display in the front?

    Thanks.

Both my kids have Vizio's that have the display. They're at least 5 years old though or maybe more...the Blu Ray players that is.

Everything is losing the display. Some newer devices don't even have a power light, which can also make troubleshooting stupid. I need to replace my cable box but the new version doesn't have a display, so no clock. I don't have any open spots on the surge protector for a clock. It's turning in to a pain in the ass.
