Freebie and the Bean. The bathroom shootout is great.

So I remembered Police Story had a spin off with Angie Dickinson playing Sgt Pepper Anderson in Police Woman. I’ll be in my bunk!
Just a dog chauffeur that used to hold the dumb end of the leash.

The book is also excellent. (As are several of Price's books. He has a good ear for the street and its dialog.)
There's nothing civil about this war.

I recall that they stuff cotton in their ears before confronting the bad guy in the restroom.

But the supporting cast of cop characters - awesome. Especially Charles Durning as the LT.
    Brian Keith as Papa.

Plus, the greatest movie soundtrack ever! Sarah Vaughn, Chet Baker, Joe Williams, Julie London...
(Okay, half the soundtrack is great, the other half is disco or somesuch shit)

Also, one of those movies that are better than the book.
True story: Eastwood sent Reynolds the script for Any Which Way But Loose, and Reynolds told him "You make Smokey And The Bandit in California and I'll make Dirty Harry in Atlanta."

Couple that are mostly forgotten but were pretty good—

    Narc

    Rush

(Both happened to have Jason Patric)

You all made me go off and listen to To Live and Die in LA (good movie, GREAT song, lots of memories to it). Lot's of good ones but for different reasons. I like Heat as much as the original Police Academy, but that is similar to comparing Serpico or The Departed to Running Scared. What types of entertainment do you want.

Basing my pick on one I haven't seen mentioned yet:

    48 hours

    You're highly mistaken.

My faves in no particular order of preference:

    The New Centurions
    Dirty Harry
    LA Confidential
    Heat.

Custer wore the 1st "Arrow shirt".
Given the size & power of “Ivan”, we must now … and ever be Vigilant.
