    Walther PPS M2 TruGlo Pro tritium sights

    I recently bought a PPS M2 RMSc to use as a back up/off duty gun and have been really impressed with it (see LtDave’s thread here: https://pistol-forum.com/showthread....er-PPS-M2-RMSc). But I decided to take the RMSc off and use it on another project (either a PPQ Q5 Match or another CZ) down the road. Which made me start looking for other sights for the PPS M2. I settled on the TruGlo Pro tritium sights here:http://www.truglo.com/firearms-handg...i-state=dialog. They installed without a problem. Took about 5 minutes.

    So tonight I finally had a chance to go out and put some rounds down range with them. I haven’t done any long range shooting with them. All of tonight’s shooting was 7 yards and in. But they were on the money and easy to find/track. I shot the FAST, Dot Torture and the Casino Drill. This little pistol shoots like a bigger pistol. I shot the FAST before anything else and turned in some high 6 second runs. Then I shot DT. I always start DT at 3 yards with any new pistol/sighting system. Cleaned it easily with the new sights. Then I shot the Casino Drill. The first time I shot it at 3 yards and shot it clean in 14.15. Then I shot it at 5 yards and shot it 14.92+2 and a 14.51 clean.

    For those wondering, at 5 yards the top of the front sight blade was POA/POI. Right now I’ve got about 750 rounds through this little guy. I’ve shot little single stack 9s (Kahr CW9/K9 and G43) a lot, but none of them were as shootable as the PPS M2. The closest was the K9 and it was heavy.

    The one thing I didn’t do was take photos with the RMSc on to show how the sights clutter the window of the optic. I’ll try to get around to that soon. So far I really like the TruGlo sights. We’ll see how they do long term.

    How sharp is the rear sight?
    Likes pretty much everything in every caliber.

    The example I had for a P30SK was dull. Front measured out to be like .150", however.

    @Lon,

    How well does the striker indicator work vs a SDC?

    Have you been able to fully load your magazines from the start ? On my Gen 1 PPS my magazines were tighter than Scrooge Mcduck.

    2 of the 3 mags I used yesterday were 8 rounders that I took out of the package right before I left the house. Loaded to 8 the first time and every time after w/o an issue.

    You can use the striker indicator as a SCD. I just went and messed around with it a few times. It’s not as easy, but it can be done. The indicator barely sticks out and you have to put a lot of pressure on it compared to a SCD to keep it from moving. The best way I can describe it is you have to have put enough pressure on the back of the slide/indicator to have taken all of the “cushion” out of your thumb. Otherwise there will be enough “cushion” for the striker to move. Hope that makes sense.

    This little pistol/sight combo continues to impress me. Our another 200 rds thru it today. Zero malfunctions. I would have outrun my P07 on the Casino drill if I didn’t forget that my second reload was in my knife pocket on my Vertx pants. Shot a 15.35 clean with this from concealment. Best time from my USPSA rig and P07 was 13.13.

    Love this thing. Just need another mag pouch or 2.
