Is it worth using the magazine sleeves with a G19 magazine if your not using it on an ankle or vest?

Maybe, if you are using the G19 or G17 magazine as your primary magazine.

I only do that when it’s on my nightstand and I don’t have access to another gun, like when traveling or for some other reason I can’t access the safe with other, larger guns in it. Other wise, I only use longer magazines as spares and carry it with a ten round flush fit baseplate, so I don’t use sleeves on any of the longer magazines b/c on the reload in the G26 they will pinch, and b/c with the sleeve in place they can’t be used in the larger, longer gripped gun, so the universal reload between the large and small GLOCKs isn’t universal.

And I don’t want to get used to handling the G26 with a different grip than it has when carrying it. Putting a grip adapter sleeve on a longer magazine would really change the feel. That concern is lesser, but still present in my thinking.

Team G26 is strong; my 642 is my “when not wearing a belt” companion.

The j-frame is such a great training tool that many overlook.

...and they share that two finger grip.

Im not particularly happy with a G43x as a ankle gun so looking at a 26 for that role (probably moving to vest if that will work, with ankle as an option), so commonality with the larger magazines would be nice. A G17 magazine in the pocket is normal for me away from work. The magazine sleeve was more of just another option.

You got that right, @Leroy Suggs

When I don't have my G26 on, (which basically means I'm around home), I have the 642-1 on my person or within arm's reach. I think they make an awesome combo, and the two finger grip on each, (assuming the 10 round flush mag is installed), helps maintain the mindset and muscle memory for these two classics.

It would help to be wise between the ears as well.

I believe it was Socrates who said, “I am the wisest man alive, for I know one thing, and that is that I know nothing.”

FYI - if you wanted to explore your options the Pearce extensions PG-G42733 are a tad smaller and feel better than the OEM +2.
