I am thinking of buying my first Glock...I have a few questions?

Like I said I am thinking of buying my first glock. I am pretty much sold on the model 17. The question I have is this. They have 2 models one is a generation 4 and a 5. Is it worth paying for the extra for the 5 or will the 4 surfice. Is one much better thaan the other. If I could get some feed back it would be great.

I think the gen 5 is worth the extra money, mine is the best out of the box Glock I have ever owned. It has the best out of the box trigger and is slightly more accurate than my Gen 1,2,3, and 4 Glock 17's with the factory barrel.

Yes Gen 5 is worth it to me. More when I have time.

You didn't say how much extra, but probably. Unless your hands don't fit the finger grooves on the Gen 4, then definitely.
Sorta around sometimes for some of your shitty mod needs.

    Gen 5 all the way.

You don't say how much extra it is to get a Gen 5, but I'll assume the normal cost dit between 4 and 5 and say the 5th gen is worth it to me for sure.

I own two G19.4s and a G17.2. Have shot a couple Gen 5s. It’s worth it to go Gen 5.

I've shot Glocks on and off since 1991.
The Gen 5's are by far the best pistols Glock has ever put out.
