Surefire is bringing back the XVL2

It was certainly unexpected. A prototype of the XVL2 was publicly announced a few years ago, before being seemingly forgotten. It had a white light, ir illuminator, laser and ir laser and roughly had the body of a modified X300v.

While going through the catalogue of a French gear retailer, I noticed that they had a new, completely different version of the thing. 350 lumen with max vision beam, green or red laser, Ir illuminator and laser, for pistol and rifles.

Has anyone seen this light yet? SF was pushing it as ready for release back at SHOT.

I check their site monthly and while it’s there it’s still not available. Of course I want it in tan and with a green laser so I’m not holding my breath. The XH55G seems to have disappeared so until I see one in person I am trying not to get excited about the XLV2. The site says “coming soon.”

Yeah, I’m not holding my breath. I believe that the first units would have a FDA restricted IR laser. It could be a while for the civilian-approved units. Disappointing to say the least.
