I'm looking at new ear muffs and wants some advice please

I'm currently using the Howard Leight Impact Pro muffs and the battery life is not that good. These are what I'm looking at now and are in my price range. https://www.botach.com/3m-peltor-tac...t16h210f-sv-1/ Anyone have any experience with these? Any other options that you have first hand experience with? Thanks in advance.

I've had the H-L Impact Pro, and at first they seemed great, but they were a little tricky to getting a good seal, which is essential to getting good hearing protection, and after a few months of extensive wear the foam earcups were even more difficult to get a good seal, and had gotten horribly uncomfortable.

Currently, IMO, the best bang for the buck is the Peltor Tactical 300, with gel ear cups added: https://www.amazon.com/Peltor-Tactic...ical+300&psc=1

    https://www.amazon.com/3M-Peltor-Cam...YA00Y5QX853Q6E

With that you get 24dB NRR, and an excellent seal (assuming you use the right eye pro), which is extremely comfortable, all for about $125.

If that's too pricey, I'd suggest getting the Peltor Tactical 100s: https://www.amazon.com/Peltor-Tactic...cal%2B300&th=1

I used to recommend the Peltor Rangeguard, rather than the 100s, until I learned there actually is a difference in the electronics, which justifies the slight increase in cost.

Again, get the gel seals, but even without them the earcups are much better than the H-L Impact earcups.

Technically the gel seals don't fit any of those headsets, but as we've discussed before that's just because they are not a direct fit replacement, but can be easily used. See, Post #65 on this thread: https://pistol-forum.com/showthread....s-Thread/page7

I've got some Noisefighter Sightlines inbound for my Peltors, really look forward to actually being able to use glasses when shooting. The gel should also be an improvement over the simple foam.

Those gel pads for the HL’s look awesome.

I find using gel much more comfortable shooting for long periods (4 hours, say in a class) as well as better fitting around both my regular glasses and eye pro.
