The New Graith Specialist belt - People are going nuts!

Not a judgment but an observation... the accolades in the Graith forum for the new belts are nothing short of Nirvana. For those who have one, what exactly has this belt done to revolutionize AIWB carry as we know it? I've seen this rabid praise here and there for holsters but never for a belt.

It's the mix of just the right rigidity top to bottom with just the right flexibility in circumference.

I don't know that it's revolutionized things but as mentioned above it's got a good balance of characteristics and uses a more desirable buckle than other belts have in the past, all at a decent price. The praise is warranted, buy one.
    Think for yourself. Question authority.

I wish it had been released a couple of weeks sooner - I had just ordered another Wilderness Tactical Frequent Flyer. I'm not crazy about the round 2-piece buckle on the FF, but the buckle itself provides friction for closure and the velcro is secondary. Looks like the Specialist relies solely on velcro for closure.

Fwiw, I was wearing a 1.75 Frequent Flyer when my Graith arrived, switched my loops to 1.5 & my FF now lives in a drawer with other belts I don’t use. It’ll stay there until I need to carry OWB.

Its rigid, simple to put on and off and low profile and its very affordable. I had a cobra buckle belt before this that i hated because it was such a PITA to put on and off. So happy with this belt from graith.

I thought that too. I was wrong. It threads through the loop that is attached to the rest of the belt and then back through the open loop. It is quite secure without Velcro.

That being said, I am back to my Wilderness Frequent Flyer. I found the Specialist comfy to wear, but the edges were itchy and I just like a wider 1.75” belt.

Clarifying my preference more: I run a smaller G43 or 26 often in a very low riding VG2 holster frequently. The FF supports the gun better for this sort of carry and the top of the belt doesn’t tear up my fingers as much as the rougher Specialist. For most regular holstered carry the Specialist was more comfy and low profile.

I am pulling decently hard on this belt.

I got one when they were called the low profile belt (pretty sure it's the same belt) and it became the belt I use every day when I dont have to tuck in a shirt. Its rigid enough to support a g19 while still being thin, and there is no foot print of the buckle which in my experience is the biggest draw back of a leather belt.

I feel this way. It's doing a lot of what the Volund Slim did for me, but in a truly minimalist way. The buckle choice is a big deal, IMO. The price is at an amazing value. The only thing I could wish for more is the same belt with the Wilderness webbing possibly. I've always felt there was something special about their material vs others.

How loud is taking it off with the Velcro? I'm worried about it's signature in public restrooms and that's the only reason I haven't bought one.
