RFI Newly skinny guy CCW ideas needed

Great news, I have lost a significant amount of weight and I am now well inside/bordering underweight BMI. I aced my companies health tests.

Bad news, carrying my G19 in a AIWB is freaking obvious even wearing oversized pants and shirt. My wife told me I might as well just wear it OWB.

I tried her G42 and it worked but I quote from her "It's MINE" so I will have to get myself a G42 or something else.

    So here is the question:

Go with a G42 for myself or is there a better holster/carry location option for the G19 or is there a better option for carry weapon (G43, Shield 2.0, etc)?

Other options I am missing like a nice single stack DA/SA that will hide decently?

    For reference, I am 5'11", 135'ish.

G43 + Gadget + Mastermind or JMCK or Dark Star Gear (holster and mag pouch) + Graith specialist belt = Very concealable AIWB carry package

^This or go retro with a J Frame + Bianchi Speedstrip + JMCK AIWB holster + A&G Leather Belt even though this is the Semi forum.

Or put a G42+gadget/642 in your pocket.

    Or smartcarry.

135 at 5'11 is skinny! Congrats on losing the fat - now you might want to try building muscle. It's far easier to conceal firearms AIWB when you have shoulders and pecs for your shirt to drape over instead of the gun.

I am 5'10 and a relatively fit 160-165; I don't have an issue concealing a G19 in a normally-cut mens medium T-shirt. What belt and holster are you using?

If you go for a smaller gun, try a 26, 43 or Shield/ M&P Compact, but I wouldn't buy a new gun when belts/holsters for the gun you already own are cheaper.

    Working (out) on it.

Surprisingly harder to add muscle than to lose fat.

I have a G26, it does help with the grip printing but it still sticks out pretty obviously thickness wise even when I blouse out my shirt. I don't have enough moobs to drape yet.

Galco straight drop IWB leather holster (don't remember model) and I don't remember the brand of belt. It is an 1 1/4" wide double thick leather holster belt that I bought 20+ years ago before I got married and was skinny. I had 10-15 lbs more muscle then.

I am open to other holster/carry position options but I have honestly only ever carried AIWB. Back when I got my CCW in 1998 it was a Walther P5. By the time I started AIWB G19 I had gotten married and gotten fat.

Still married, no fat left but don't have a Walther P5 either.

I wish I could find something similar today. It carried and shot very well. Shouldn't have ever gotten rid of it but someone wanted it way more than I did at the time.

I have gone down the 642/640 J-frame route twice. Both times to get a grip that was pleasant enough to practice with it was nearly as thick as a G19/26 and much more difficult to reload. I have a M60 3" that I have been toying around with but don't have a holster for yet.

    It is still and option.

I’m 5’10”/200#, and I work out. I could stand to lose some belly fat.

I don’t carry AIWB. I carry at 3:00-4:00, depending on attire, gun, and activity, or I carry in a pocket, smartcarry, or ankle.

The G26 works perfectly well there under an untucked polo or loose shirt. A tighter shirt requires the G42. I use JMCK IWB#3 for both. I pocket and smartcarry the G42 and/or my 642, and ankle the 642. If I’m tucked in with no cover, I’m carrying pocket or smartcarry. The smaller gun does have less grip to hold onto. That’s the nature of it. If I’m really not caring about printing/etc, I’ll carry a bigger gun IWB or OWB, but again, almost always at 3:00-4:00.

I’ve experimented AIWB with the G26, and was gifted a Mastermind to do that with, but I just can’t get there. If you need a different holster for your G26 to try that with, PM me.

The only single-stack DA/SA that capitalizes on the potential for slimness that I'm aware of is the S&W 3913 family. The 3953 is the slimmest version. Very far from ideal, though, as it's been out of production for a long time and S&W no longer supports spare parts.

Maybe the Springfield XD-E? There was some discussion here:

    Also here:

I can't comment on the XDE myself.
