Another fan here. Sharpened edge helps you chop through not only roots, but a variety of materials.

Fuck you guys... another package I'll have to explain to the wife... "but honey... snow...maybe?"

Collection of the U.S. E-tools here as well. Currently have M-51's in the vehicles. Damn near indestructible, but a heavier than most other options.

At $99 it’s not gonna happen.

I’ve kept a GI folding shovel in my vehicle for decades.

I've had the Cold Steel Russian shovels for years. You all know that you can throw and stick them just like a tomahawk don't you?

I’m all about a folding e-tool when camping. But a non-folding shovel makes work much easier in my experience.

After getting stuck in the snow back in my college days, I've kept a shovel in my vehicle. Back then it was the wooden handled folding USGI shovel. I later put the tri-folds in each car. I've also got one of the Cold Steel shovels in my SUV. if I didn't already have the tri-folds, I'd probably just put a Cold Steel in each vehicle.

The first chapter of Viktor Suvorov’s book about Spetsnaz is all about the Soviet spade and it’s use as a tool and a weapon. Good reading. I’ve got the Cold Steel shovel in my Jeep.
