SIG 320 full size and new X5 grip module

Got some emails with Father's Day Sales and both DVOR and SIG have SIG 320 grip modules one sale including "X5" grip modules. Looks like you can buy a full size X5 module minus grip weight and mag well (all medium). I have one SIG 320 9mm full size and considering trying a X5 grip module. Anyone have experience with X5 normal FS versus X5 full size grip modules? Thanks

I thought I read somewhere along the line that the X5s use proprietary magazines that don't interchange with "standard" P320s. Has that changed?

That is incorrect. The X5 mags are not proprietary.

X5’s require the newer / current generation magazines which also work in the older P320/P250. The tabs on the sides above the base plate of the old mags interfere with fit. SIG made the tabs
On the sides thinner on the new mags. You can modify the older / P250 style mags to work.

New style has the square detent holding the mag base plate on.
