By contrast, (for example) M&Ps and XDs are in my opinion obviously poorly engineered in critical ways. I would not choose either as a carry gun.
Would you mind sharing what you see as deficiencies in the M&P? I'll start another thread if you're willing.

Oh, man I hate to go down that rabbit hole... but sure. Start a design flaws thread and we can all bash on our least favorite guns?

No, it is a system that allows a smaller and physically weaker person control a stronger opponent. Sort of like a 14 year girl controlling gun well enough to make a GM. Think of it as a quarter panel technique of hand to hand.

I'll have an AAR from the camp in late July. But, I won't be able to test my P-07 while I'm getting drowned in a muddy river. No live guns allowed.

Follow up to my post about the price of a gun and its perceived quality...

I was at the range today and ran into an old buddy I hadn't seen in a while. He's a "gun guy". A very experienced defensive carbine and pistol instructor, and a solid precision rifle competitor. We got into the "so what are you carrying these days?", and I showed him my P-07. He had no idea what it was.

Buddy: "A CZ? Why would you carry that?"

Me: "I'm competing with a Shadow 2, and wanted something similar."

Buddy: "That's a really cheap gun. Is it reliable?"

Me: "Yeah, it's done very well in lots of tests, and is used by military and law enforcement. I really like it."

Buddy: "Huh. I always thought CZs were like one step up from a Kel Tec."

    Me: "You're joking right?"

After he handled the gun, and we talked some more he seemed somewhat convinced that it wasn't a junk gun. Interesting, right?
