A bunch of mounting plate adaptors and QD mounts now listed...basically if there is a factory optic ready pistol Aimpoint has an adapter plate for it.

So Aimpoint is beating CZ and HK to market with adapter plates for their own pistols?

Isn't the OR version of the VP9 (sold as SFP9) available in Europe?

It is no more available than here. European members on HKPRO posted about having them on order for a year, and it has only been seen at exhibits.

It is probably some reverse psychology joint delaying strategy, where Aimpoint says they have a part for a non-existent pistol, and HK agrees to let them have a plate for a non-existent optic, while they both scramble to actually make the pistol and optic.

It was pretty disappointing to see H&K not incorporate an optics mounting plate into the VP9 long-slide kit that supposedly will be available soon. Making me lean toward the Walther PPQ M5 as my Acro host.

    Damn that thing is huge.

Which brings me to a nit-picky point. Acro fans keep saying, “It’s the same size as the RMR.” No, it’s the same footprint size as an RMR. That doesn’t make it the same size. If a 7’ tall Sasquatch has size 10 feet, he has the same foot print that 5’7” me does. That doesn’t make us the same damn size. It doesn’t even make us comparable in size, except we can swap shoes.

The footprint of an optic on a handgun is actually the least important part. The most important part is height of thr optic above the bore and the placement of the optic window for optimal dot acquistion and concealment. The Acro isn’t going to be super concealment friendly, compared to say the Shield C. It will probably be awesome for duty and combat optics, but for carry? Pass.

What someone really needs to do, is shrink a damn etched-reticle holographic sight down and integrate a rechargable battery. That would be a real step forward in terms of reliability and packaging.

I spoke with Rob Leatham on the phone this afternoon. He has an Acro being direct milled onto a 1911.

His first comment was there is not a single other red dot he can recommend today. He said he is optimistic about the Acro. While not as big as a DP Pro, he said it is super easy to find the dot in the window.
