That is how you let everybody in the world know you're "packing" without being so crass as to actually open carry

There’s an element for which this is cosplay. Probably certain trainers get it more than others.

I always try to figure out if the person wearing a thigh holster spends their workday either rapelling or carrying a long gun before dismissing them as practitioners of malljitsu.

I think I'm going to start walking the dog wearing my old Eagle Industries (circa 1990) thigh rig. Keep them coyotes and possums in line.
There's nothing civil about this war.

I'm gonna need a wakizashi. Too bad I gave my Shin Shinto era tanto to Jerry Halfrich a few years ago.

I don't think anyone who wears a thigh rig had ever had to hike very far with one. Growing up, Dad sometimes let me carry his Ruger Single Six .22 in a tie down Hollywood rig, the original thigh holster. I toughed it out because it was cool, but swinging the weight of a pistol tied to your leg got old fast! It wasn't long before I realized a regular hip holster was much more comfortable for walking.

I don't know what I look like to others. I never asked. I don't have much fashion sense except how to dress comfortably in jeans, plain tee shirts & flannel and of course, the fedora (actually, it's probably more of a safari hat). I don't try to blend in, I don't try to stand out. I just am what I am. Low speed, low drag, no periscope. I do pay attention to what's going on around me though. I pay attention to what people wear, but more importantly, how they wear it as well as their posture, how they move and what they are paying attention to.

We wish to thank the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement, without whose assistance this program would not have been possible.

The point to a drop holster is to get it below your body armor, not halfway to your knee. Manufacturers allow for adjustment but you see a lot of people use them as is. I used to adjust my Safarilands so that the butt of my pistol was just below my belt, then cut off the excess strap. Worn that way they were very stable.

I have no idea what that means.
If we have to march off into the next world, let us walk there on the bodies of our enemies.

When I was still on SWAT I was carrying in a thigh rig on duty but I was anticipating throwing on a heavy vest at some point during the shift. I used to walk miles and miles with it following the mutt around. No issues walking but I hated running with it.
Just a dog chauffeur that used to hold the dumb end of the leash.
