Beretta 92 Centurion Slide Without Grooves?

I was helping a friend disassemble a Beretta 92FS Centurion Slide (circa 1994) and noticed it does not have the two groves where the right side safety lever pins are driven out. I’ve never seen a 92 without those grooves. How do I drive the pins out without those grooves? Are all Centurions like this?

I guess it is not normal for a Centurion. My friend called Beretta customer service. They wanted to see the slide so he’s sending it in.

No, unfortunately not a Taurus. The rest of the pistol looked so nice I thought maybe it was built that way on purpose and there was some other way to get the safety off. Beretta customer service told my friend they never heard of this happening before.
