How hard would it be to have a gunsmith machine the rear sight out to fit something like the C&S fixed rear?

Sorry, I must be getting senile....wish I could remember. It’s possible, don’t think they ever carried a .357, but I’m not sure.

    67’s are chambered in .38, not .357.

I know. I wasn’t clear, but meant that as a don’t think they used 66s.

In the 70s and 80s, were most cops carrying .357 or .38?

When I came on in '82, I was issued a Model 64. Prior to that time and after, patrol personel were issued a mix of 64s, 15s, Ruger Service Six and .38 Troopers, until came the GLOCKs...

Interestingly, in 1985 the department commissioned a Twenty-Fifth Year Anniversary gun through Smith. It was done a Model 67. I bought one, and it remains unfired/as issued, with a neat wooden case and other swag.

There was a special version made for the CHP from '77 to '88. Six-inch model 67 with a shrouded ejector, was actually called a 68, not a 67.

Olong I remember it, the 68 had a heavy shrouded barrel like a Model 66, 6 inch. Good looking unit!

Is this a good deal? J&G has a lot of different model 10 options and honestly I have no idea what I’m looking at or should be looking for.
