    Week 265: F-PAR Low% Pair

    Week 265: F-PAR Low% Pair

Results may be posted until May 20th, 2018.

    Designed by: Todd Louis Green
    Range: 7 yards
    Target: 3x5 card
    Start Position: Holstered
    Rounds Fired: 40

You will need a shot timer for this drill and you will need to know how to operate the PAR function. This is another Floating PAR. Begin with a PAR time that you can confidently draw and hit the target twice from the holster.

Draw and fire two rounds at the target. If you score both hits, reduce the PAR time by 0.1 seconds. If miss one, increase the PAR by 0.1 seconds; if you miss both shots, increase the PAR by 0.2 seconds. Do not make incremental changes greater than this even if your times are much farther from the PAR.

Draw and fire two again with the new PAR. Repeat the process (subtracting 0.1 seconds for 100% hits or adding 0.1 seconds per miss) until you've performed a total of 20 2-shot draws.

If you cannot draw from the holster on your range, then shoot the drill from ready instead.

Please report the following when you post your results in this thread:

Start position (open holster, concealed, retention holster)
    Starting PAR
    Lowest PAR with a hit
    Final PAR (20th draw)
    Anything you noticed

Start position- Concealed with PX4CC in JMCK Wing Claw
Starting PAR- 4.00 seconds- figured I would start high to eliminate pressure that I added to myself
Lowest PAR with a hit- 3.0 was lowest PAR with hits, was 2/2 in 2.35 seconds
Final PAR (20th draw)- 3.30. I got down to 3.00, but started to miss a shot
Anything you noticed- I shot this at the end of my range time and really did well the first 14 iterations, but started to miss after a certain spot. Think I started to get a bit of concentration fatigue at the end.

Start position (open holster, concealed, retention holster) G19-5 concealed AIWB under a closed front shirt
    Starting PAR 3.0s
Lowest PAR with a hit 2.4s 1/2 hits
Final PAR (20th draw) 2.5s clean
Anything you noticed 3.0s was too high of a PAR time. My slowest clean run was somewhere around 2.6s. My fastest three clean runs were 2.19s, 2.24s and 2.26s. I hit 33/40 shots fired so I definitely want to get better at hitting 3x5 cards. I would like to be at the point where I can hit 90% of my shots in under 2.2s.
