So now I am starting my box of shift knobs.

I was provided some counsel, that I wisely decided to heed, regarding 1) the height of the first knob (as in, “Too High Rich!”) but perhaps more importantly “It doesn’t have the shift pattern. How am I going to drive this car without knowing where the gears are!?”
So.
What to do?
Duh. Buy a shorter knob with the pattern. Happy wife happy life.
Which anyway I think this one matches the car interior better, being silver, and the throws are shorter, but more crisp, if that makes any sense. Happy with this one.
Good thing I thought of this.

A couple weeks ago I awkwardly ran over a small palm tree (I’m not making this up) that appeared suddenly from under the vehicle in front of me. It must have fallen off a delivery truck ahead in the line of traffic. I was on the causeway in heavy two-lane traffic and there was literally no where I could go. It whacked the heck out of the left end of the black rubber finishing trim that fits underneath the front bumper lower to direct air flow under the car.
I took a look, the trim was hanging down and it appeared that the body trim finisher that fastens it in place got launched in the process.
So I bought a Porsche "Expanding Rivet 999-591-941-40" https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_In...=Y&SVSVSI=.htm (and a spare) off of Pelican parts ($3 for two) and re-inserted it this weekend. Should be good to go now. The fit is not terrific, but it's attached at least.

Personally, I agree, and it is part of the reason I find driving a slow (presumably cheaper) car fast so much more fun. But you might also check with your insurance company to see what they do cover - mine covers "driving schools" which includes track events as long as there is an instructor riding shotgun. And if you choose to drive to the track, check local towing rates or even a 1way uhaul+trailer to get you home, just in case. Things break more often at the track...
Me:
Honey I sweartagod this is the last shift knob mod. I even returned the other one for credit and applied a 10% credit and besides it fits my hand better and is REALLY COOL and everything!!
My Wife:
If you start buying track pads, she won't even notice. Just sayin'.
