Mine is a Springfield. I think it may have had some work done to it, but I don't know 1911's well enough to tell. If I sell it, I will probably buy a 1911 in 9mm. That seems like a reasonable compromise to me, though it may offend the purist.

If we have to march off into the next world, let us walk there on the bodies of our enemies.
Personally, if I could have only one gun period it would be a quality shotgun, given that they are the most versatile firearm extant. But if I could only have one pistol it would be either a .357 mag or .44 mag revolver with a 4" barrel. Again, primarily on the merits of versatility alone.

I used to have a 4" 19-3 but I gave it to my dad who used to carry one as a cop. I then got a GP100 to replace it and have since gotten a 4" and a 2.75" Security Six in stainless and a 629 and 625. I would very much like to order a brace of these 64's, or even just one, but of the 80-ish guns I already have they all need more ammo and mags and most need something else like an optic, sling, grips, sights and the like. I should sell off a bunch and get the rest squared away but the only two left that I am willing to part with are either already listed for sale or aren't worth hardly anything.
Man that is quite a deal. If I hadn't just gone on a 3" 65 and 66 buying spree I would pick one of thee up. I have a 2" 64 that is a lot of fun to shoot.
I've been trying to find a source for factory DAO K frame hammers. If anyone wants to trade your DAO hammer for a SA/DA hammer I have a few.

I bought one of these when Stephanie the Enabler posted up last year. Picked up a Pachmayr Presentation to go on the square butt. I really like it after spending several hours smoothing and shaping the rubber. A little here, a little there, doing what I like and what makes sense. Realize in the end, I have a $20 grip worth $10 that is not that far off a Herrett's Shooting Master or Jordan Trooper. Next time, I think I'll just work the overtime and send some money up to Twin Falls.
