NRA Uses this and Democrats will use this too. No one ever prescribed anything more powerful than an aspirin will be denied firearms access.
This is an incredibly dangerous and inaccurate portrayal of psychiatric drugs.
36 school and violence acts by people "taking" psychiatric drugs?
There are 41 million prescriptions for Zoloft in the United States alone.
Let's just ASSume that the 36 people were all taking Zoloft...36 scripts out of 41,000,000 scripts out there...that's 0.00000088% of zoloft prescribees that committed these acts of violence.
Yea, THAT'S a sample size I wouldn't base taking a piss on...

Good Point ..
Even if you assume those scripts are monthly and thus divisible by twelve to get the actual number of people being prescribed to, that's a shit-ton of drugs.
"America’s Addiction to Opioids: Heroin and Prescription Drug Abuse"

There's a pretty well documented history of extreme psychiatric side effects in a small percentage of people on psych drugs.
The total for that list is 428,961,000 even a miniscule percentage adds up to a lot of people.
Whether you think you can or you can't, you're probably right.
Its the perfect storm, increasing use of drugs, lack of morals, improper reporting of non eligible people...... While I am sure this doesn't help, there is not an easy answer or cure. The horses are out of the barn.
The antis want total abolishment of firearm ownership and the Pro 2A wants none.
Another article showing the scope of America's appetite for prescriptions:
http://apps.who.int/medicinedocs/en/...html#Js6160e.6
in 2000 US consumed 53% of all pharmaceuticals in the world. 18 years later, wonder where that trend lies?
