Thread: Federal Air Marshal Qual (and others)?

    The old FAM course remains the only LE qual course that approaches reflexive weapon handling, everything else is an exercise to indemnify the agency.

    As far as standards go, I also like Paul Howe's standards for both rifle and pistol. They don't require Grand Master level shooting but check for basic competency and do so with a relatively small number of rounds.

    We use several different quals and one of which are the Paul Howe rifle and pistol standards. It’s not that hard but a decent shooter has to take it seriously to pass. I think the skill level required to pass it is just right when trying to get a bunch of shooters qualled(its a realistic standard).
