    Photorealistic Targets

(Not sure if this should go in Drills or Mindset subforum)

Is there value in using photorealistic targets for practice? If so, what is gained by using them? Is it worth the extra cost over, say, index cards and printed B-8 targets? Are there drawbacks to practicing with them regularly?

For the sake of clarity, the types of targets I'm referring to are basically photos of people in "bad guy" poses.

For simple target practice? It'll help you see how your sights look against various colors. This may or may not be a big deal based on how you process color, what type of sights you have, etc.

The value in decision making scenarios is what I see. A target that turns and you have to make the shoot/no-shoot based on what you see. Photo-realistic is better than a brown cardboard with a handgun drawn on it, more visual clutter, more realism. That's not something you can practice on your own, though. You need a way to hide the target and a partner who can set it up for you.
Sorta around sometimes for some of your shitty mod needs.
