Practice retention shooting in your house? SIRT

To lighten up for a bit. We sometimes shoot from retention close up in training and matches. Doing such at the standard indoor range is not really popular. So for practice and grins, I've been trying out my G17 SIRT at home. Interesting, at across master bedroom distances, I can usually come within a half-foot to a foot of my designated target - various things such as books, doodads, vases, etc. The second 'shot' is even closer. Now there is no recoil obviously, but it's interesting to try.

Nevermind. Had to look up SIRT. Wondered how you could call your shots without using your sights.

Well, there is a stuffed animal on the book case. I draw and call to him that I will hit him with a laser beam. So from retention and about 10 feet, he's lasered. Is that what you are asking?

Practicing shooting at less than full extension ( and throughout that line) was the main reason I bought a SIRT years ago.
