    Buckshot velocity?

Terminally speaking, does the velocity with which buckshot impacts, all other things being equal, matter? It lives in the "pistol velocity" range, regardless, so I am led to think "no", but also understand it is a sphere and not a flat or expanding/sharp cornered meplat, so I also presume it might be different. I do know Hornady buckshot at 1450fps cuts much cleaner holes through my paper targets than Federal LR buckshot, but obviously paper is not people/deer/dogs/coyotes.
