    Quick tabletop on my 642

Since I’ve gotten multiple requests I did a quick video on the 642 I had done up by The Action Works nearly two decades ago. Anyone who religiously read the gun rags of the 1990’s should be able to identify who influenced me.

    2 questions:

Do you know what model front sight was installed?

And what are the advantages of the power custom thumbpiece?

    Thanks

Full custom made from a blank by Don.

More positive release of the cylinder.

Huh. Did I forget to mention that in the video?

Didn’t watch it yet - wife was asleep when I clicked through earlier.

ETA: yes, you did. I am now tempted to stipple the back strap of my oldest J, a 642-2 that appears to be of similar vintage.

Very nice. So who could do a front sight like that today? I have a 642-1, and would love an improved sight on it.

I hear a fair amount of Mas influence in there, myself.
