I have some Federal 127DP's still, but was looking at picking up some Brennekes. Doc's ammo article is 6 years old at this point. Is the Home Defense still the one to get? Here are my options:

I like the Brenneke Home Defense slugs a lot. Surprisingly easy to shoot, very accurate - at least to about 30 yards, which is as far back as I could go where I shoot outdoors - and they leave a cool pattern in the paper.
I've opted for keeping Federal Flight Control 00 buck in my 590 for home defense use, but the Brenneke is good stuff.

The 1 oz Brenneke THD remains a good load: http://www.brennekeusa.com/law-enfor...l-home-defense
The KO is also an option: http://www.brennekeusa.com/hunting-ammunition/kotm

I have been using the 1 1/8 ounce 2.75 Classic Magnum slugs for the last twenty years. Last I looked, this is the same slug carried by the AK Troopers wildlife officers.
Likes pretty much everything in every caliber.
Any known issues with the THD running a Benelli (since it’s low recoil)?

The 1 1/8 ounce 2.75" Classic Magnum slugs are a great wilderness load and offer superb penetration.

George these? http://www.brennekeusa.com/hunting-a...ssic-magnumtm/
They seem flat shooting compared to Winchester 2.75" ounce Forster. I'm getting 4"at 50yards with the M4 and Winchester combo.
I hope the classic magnum will tighten up my groups.
Yes, that is the Brenneke slug I use. I zero at 25 yards, which puts them a bit higher 50, and back on at 75 yards. The Winchester 2.75 Foster slugs shoot close enough at 25 yards to the Brenneke slugs, that I find them useful for practice. Recoil feels about the same as well.
