Our family does a fair bit around Sanibel during the summer. Last summer, while in Tarpon Bay, we had a pod of dolphins driving fish towards our boat- and waiting for us to release the ones too small to keep.

One of the times I went last year a friend and I took his three boys and a neighbor kid out after pan
fish. I brought a rod, got it out of his SUV, and stood it against a bush near the water.
Didn't touch it again till we left. Instead I spent time putting worms on hooks for the kids who
were still squeamish, and trying to teach them when to set the hook. The kids caught several perch and sunfish
each and had so much fun it didn't bother me that I didn't get to fish myself.

I don't go ice fishing these days so it will be a couple of months before I can get out again.

Here’s where I wrecked my nephew’s brain at an early age. He caught that on one of those cheapo walmart rigs with bent steel wire for a rod.

He is now in college and an amazingly accomplsiehd sportsman with lots of deer, turkey, muskie, etc. notches in his belt.
