LAPD hostage rescue/OIS:
Man with gun, reported as robbing store:
"Are you ready? Okay. Let's roll."- Last words of Todd Beamer
Look at the ice cream truck and car at the light. I'd call it four car lengths, maybe a bit over 25 yards. Whether he saw some reason to shoot or just shot because his partner did is certainly a question, as well as his judgment on shooting toward his partner and a bystander.
"Gunfighting is a thinking man's game. So we might want to bring thinking back into it."-MDFA
Beware of my temper, and the dog that I've found...
Where do we find such men:
"Are you ready? Okay. Let's roll."- Last words of Todd Beamer
Bakersfield, CA. Knife wielding son vs mother, multiple hostage rescue shots. Inspiration to practice those low-probability shots, they're not just for HRT:
Modesto, CA. Warrant service gone bad:
"Are you ready? Okay. Let's roll."- Last words of Todd Beamer
Circa 2001, I pursued a 1996 Dodge Caravan Sport in a CVPI on the interstate...he took off and left me. I was thinking, "If I let a f'ing soccer mom van lose me, I'll never hear the end of it".
He hit @ 130 at one point...CV with a light bar tops out @ 125. Unfortunate for him, he ducked off onto surface streets and blew out the passenger-side tires on a curb and was caught after a short foot pursuit.
