Overall I'm good with it. If I was the officer cuffing and I looked up to see my partner flagging me like that, we would have a SERIOUS discussion.
Lets play pretend for a moment and say the BG goes for his gun again. Is it a good idea for that officer to fire his gun from that position? Not just no, but hell no. Put your damn gun away and do something helpful.
I think that, in the spirit of MMQ/AAR blogviating, I would also suggest deferring comms until higher priority items are accomplished.
