Maybe I’m just old school. But when I see a uniformed LEO with facial hair there’s a part of my brain that thinks he’s a security guard. Anyone else?
And it drives me nuts that the PIO refers to the off duty cop’s rifle as an assault weapon...

Beards do look unprofessional for uniform patrol.
Of course I have one, mainly because I'm lazy. I can easily shave twice a day, and I hate to shave. I still agree they look bad and after my cold weather mountain hike next week, I'm shaving mine off.
