Every factory new Sig magazine I've ever used has been hard to load when new. They spring them to last a long time....

I received a 10 and 12 round magazine in the mail today. Both had some noticeable resistance on the fourth round, but only during the first loading. I brought an Uplula to the range, but was able to load the 12 round magazine without any assistance.

I wonder if at the 4th round, the follower is skipping past the mag catch notch.

I just unloaded a mag, and reloaded (bare hands) without any problems on the 4th round. I can’t explain why there was some resistance on the 4th round, when the mags were loaded for the first time. I can tell you that they’re easier to load, than they are to unload.

Sometimes the corner of the follower catches the mag catch notch. Sometimes when you push past it, it breaks the corner of the follower enough so it doesn’t catch on subsequent loadings.

Mine spends a lot of time loaded so the mags have loosened up quite a bit.

I’ve come across some great mag extensions by NDZ Precision - aluminum and come in Small/ Large sizes with multiple colors. I stuck with large in basic black...

Maybe. The 4th round is also where it goes from single stack to double stack:
