Thread: Sig P365 - Single Stack 9mm w/10+1 and 12+1

We got the “NRA model” 365 for my wife, because we liked the color. It shoots right for her, but dead on for me, so I have been shooting it to vet it. I absolutely love shooting this pistol. I am not a fast splitter, but I can shoot A zone hits at 7 yards at .18-.19 which is amazing for a pistol this small with 9mm ammo. The trigger is awesome, and I shoot it at distance very well.

I figured I would use standard pressure HST 147 with it. However, I am experiencing similar stoppages, where the slide stops out of battery, and feels locked up, until I remove the magazine and work the slide. 115 ball runs fine.

Anyone familiar with this sort of stoppage with the 365?

That happened to mine once. I removed the mag, ejected the round and the slide still stopped at the same place. Disassembled, reassembled and that fixed it. Has not happened since, I assume something with the recoil spring assembly?

I am not certain, but I thought @0ddl0t had posted about a design change in the feed ramp, where one variant or the other may not get along with the 147 HST's.

Mine has been fine with 147 HST's so far, but I have been thinking of using different defense ammo in it after reading about all of the issues with the 147 HST.

Yeah, Sig has been making rolling changes to the P365 all along - even today. The super bunched-up striker springs were from the earliest guns.

My May 2018 striker spring isn't as bunched, but might be a little more bunched than yours:

One of the things Sig is experimenting with now is the shape of the feed ramp (taper is the newer design, but some people are having feed issues with it and 147 hst)

    Here it is

I have one of each feed ramp. The one on the right is the P365, left 365XL. I have only put 50 rounds of 147 HST through the XL, but they fed fine.

Tried Gold Dot 124+ P today, and it ran fine in the 365, although POI was lower than the 147 HST.

I’ve been using Sig Elite V Crown 124 hollow points, and they’re perfect. There also relatively inexpensive if your shop around.

@GJM, what do the primer strikes look like? Any ! shaped strikes?

I have been so focused on the feeding, I haven’t looked yet. Really hope this works, as it is an amazing shooter for its size.
